Experience

With over 15 years of experience as an attorney at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel—where he held multiple leadership roles—Jimeel Hamud brings deep technical knowledge in international tax, transfer pricing, corporate transactions and procedural issues from a controversy perspective. As an associate advisory counsel, he provided legal guidance to examiners on many of the IRS’ most significant and high-profile examinations. His work spans a wide range of issues, including transfer pricing, subpart-F and foreign-derived intangible income issues, domestic corporate restructurings like mergers and spinoffs, as well as research and development, and energy tax incentives. He was also part of the trial team on several significant transfer pricing litigation cases, including a high-profile case against a major e-commerce company.

Drawing on his extensive experience, he helps taxpayers navigate audits, procedural challenges and administrative appeals with strategic insight and technical precision.
